How to Stay Safe While Searching For Keego Harbor Apartments During the Coronavirus Epidemic

It is relatively safe to say that no one was able to predict what was going to happen during the coronavirus outbreak. If you were in the process of looking for a new apartment, chances are that you are nervous about going out to see places that you might be able to call home in the future. Even in the middle of this national health crisis, life still must go on. If your lease is ending or if you are planning a move to Michigan, you still need to find an apartment to live in.

Keego Harbor apartments are open for viewing, and the staff at Cass Lake Front Apartments is doing all that they can to make sure that you stay safe during your tour of the apartments. There are a few things that you can do to help improve the touring process during this time.

Try a Virtual Tour

The time that we are living in is unprecedented. There is nothing in recent history to compare to the stay at home orders that we are receiving daily. With that being said, if you really need to find a new place to live, consider a virtual tour of the property. There are plenty of pictures to look at online that will show you exactly what type of apartments are being offered. While viewing photos and a video of the place is not exactly ideal, these times call for more drastic measures. The staff at these apartments are willing to answer any questions that you may have about the property. Virtual tours are not ideal, but they can give you a good idea of what types of apartments are available, which can help you make the right choice when you are ready to move.

Once you have viewed several apartments, you can then schedule an appointment to look at the ones that you are really interested in. Instead of visiting several places, narrow your choices down to one or two apartments that you really want to see. This will limit your exposure, which is essential at this time.

Practice Social Distancing

Once you have used pictures and virtual tours to narrow down your choices, it is time to make an appointment to view the apartment in person. When you meet with your guide, it is vital to make sure that you do not shake hands or come into close contact with them. Of course, you are going to have to go into the apartment with the property manager, but you should try to keep your distance during the tour.

If your city or state is currently on a stay at home order, you might have to wait at least a few weeks to schedule your appointment. If you need to move quickly, talk to the management team of the property to try to work something out.

Carry Hand Sanitizer

As you are walking through an apartment, there is a good chance that you are going to come into contact with different surfaces. You will be touching doorknobs in the apartment at the very least. For this reason, it is essential to make sure that you carry disinfectant wipes or hand sanitizer with you while you are touring the apartment.

Use hand sanitizer after touching any surface and make sure that you avoid touching your face while you are touring the apartment. Once you have finished with the tour, make sure that you find a restroom and use some soap and water to wash your hands thoroughly. When you get back home, make sure that you rewash your hands. If you are at a higher risk level or live with someone who is in a higher risk group, it is a good idea to change your clothes right away and wipe down any of the surfaces that you might have touched when you returned home.

Consider a Back-Up Plan

Unfortunately, no one knows precisely how long it is going to be before the nation is on the road to recovery from this disease. No one can give an exact date as to when things might get back to normal. For this reason, social activities and even regular apartment hunting might need to be put on hold for a bit. If your lease is up soon and you are not sure where you are headed just yet, it might be worth it to have a discussion with your landlord about being flexible with the end date of your lease at this time.
